Welcome to the Indiana State Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation.
The NWTF is dedicated to the conservation of the wild turkey, improving habitat and protecting our hunting heritage in Indiana. The NWTF is a national, non-profit organization focused on conservation and consisting of volunteers at the State and local level. Together we make up the Indiana State Chapter and support the NWTF’s mission by volunteering and fundraising. With 46 Chapters around Indiana having banquets, youth events, women in the outdoors events, new hunter events and an annual State banquet there is something for everyone! If you love the great outdoors, we hope you choose to join the NWTF. FOR EVERY DOLLAR RAISED BY THE NWTF, 90 CENTS GOES TO THE MISSION.

The mission of the National Wild Turkey Federation is no less urgent today than when it was founded in 1973 with headquarters in Edgefield, S.C. They are instrumental in not only enhancing wild turkey populations but also in the continuation of hunting and quality wildlife habitat for countless species. Through vital partnerships with state and federal wildlife agencies, the NWTF and our members have helped restore wild turkey populations throughout North America — from a mere 30,000 turkeys in the United States decades ago to more than 7 million across the United States, Canada and Mexico today. We believe protecting habitat for turkeys benefits other animal and bird species along with making Indiana better for all Hoosiers to enjoy. We are still losing around 6,000 acres of habitat every day in America. Hunters fund conservation but now we’re at the point where less than 10 percent of the American population hunts, so the funding source is going away. The NWTF is leading an effort to solve the problem with the Healthy Habitat Healthy Harvests initiative, and the work of our volunteers. FOR EVERY DOLLAR RAISED BY THE NWTF, 90 CENTS GOES TO THE MISSION. Since 1985, NWTF volunteers and partners raised and spent more than $488 million toward conserving wildlife habitat and preserving our hunting heritage.
